I am once again switching gears and starting another decorating project. I seem to find inspiration here and there and can’t wait to put it all together.
There is always more to do, but sometimes starting a new project is such fun.
I came across a clearance piece of stick on wall decor at Target. It had to come home with me.
I like how the gold branches work with Venus and my grandmother’s Japanese tea box.
This room is small and dark for a master bedroom. It was previously a nasty pea green color, I recently painted it Silent White by Clark and Kennsington.
I find the white very soothing.
There is only one natural window and the room has no trim or special features. It is so small I feel claustrophobic at times, there is barely enough room for two dressers and a queen size bed.
Somehow the thought of putting pictures on the wall is depressing to me.
I much prefer the idea of clean walls, with few distractions.
I guess I think it makes the space larger.
I am not sure if this is true or not.
I found this pretty piece of embroidered organza in the clearance department at JoAnn Fabrics.
I decided it would be a subtle way to decorate an all white wall. I hemmed the edges and hung it on a dowel above the bed with a couple of tassels on each side to finish it off.
I still think it needs something more, but I haven’t decided what that something is just yet.
I think I am going to like it once it’s all put together. It’s simple and romantic.
Kind of like those beautiful dreamy white bedrooms you see in all the magazines.
Except minus the ugly brown bed and the mis-matched bed linens.
I still have some work to do here.
For starters I am sewing some new pillow cases, more on that later.
The other project is to improve the lighting. I am torn between re-wiring my old lamps or buying new ones.
These new spot lights at Target are looking really good right now.
More updates to come!
