Beautiful Coastal Living Rooms to Inspire You

If you lived in a landlocked state like I do, you probably don’t get many opportunities to visit the coast. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t bring the coast to you! I love the idea of bringing coastal vibes into the living room especially during these hot summer months. In a way, it creates a bit of a summer escape. Here are a few coastal living rooms to inspire your summer decor!  Although Setting for Four no longer lives by the water, she has plenty of memories that revolve around the coast. You can tell she is a pro by the beautiful way she incorporates this love of water into every area of her decor! If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know that I have a special love for vintage decor. Virginia Sweet Pea shares a great example of how coastal decor and vintage style can go hand in hand to create a beautiful space. One of the best things about coastal decor is that it is so easy to combine with your current design aesthetic. Green With Decor shares a bright and trendy take on her blog. A little paint can go a long way. The paint color that It All Started With Paint chose really accentuates the coastal vibe in this cozy living room. Town & Country Living shares a bold take on coastal decor on her blog. This might be one of my favorites yet! Although this isn’t a picture of the entire room, it demonstrates perfectly how a few beachy details can really bring a room to…

8 Beautiful Cricut Projects Made with Wood

Cricut projects are taking over the DIY world! I’m a huge fan of the Cricut machine and the versatility it provides. I recently heard that the Cricut machine can be used to cut lightweight woods to create more dimension in your projects! I decided to take a look around and see what others have created using this method. In the process, I came across a few other beautiful projects that involve wood so I thought I would share. This beautiful sign is a perfect example of using wood with the Cricut machine to create a unique project. Love Create Celebrate shares an amazing tutorial on how to craft a beautiful sign of your own over on her blog. Newton Custom Interiors designed this fun piece using an existing wood sign she bought at a retailer. If you have a wood sign that you’re not loving, maybe you should check this project out and recycle it into a piece you’ll display with pride. If you’ve been on Pinterest in the past year, I guarantee you’ve seen a sign similar to this one. Christina’s Adventures made one for herself (along with a few other beautiful signs), if you’ve been wanting a farmhouse sign of your own this tutorial is for you. Although this project could be created using vinyl cutouts, My Sister’s Suitcase preferred the dimension that wood cutouts provide. She used multiple materials to create this sign and shares the pros and cons of them all. How beautiful is this sign made by Brooklyn Berry Designs?! She made this one for a wedding, but it would also make a…

Patriotic Projects for Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a special day for many reasons. For many, it is the day that summer officially begins. Pools begin to open, it’s finally acceptable to wear white pants again, backyard cookouts are in full swing. But more importantly, it’s a day set aside to remember the service members who have sacrificed their lives protecting our freedom. To honor these brave men and women, we wear patriotic colors and wave our flag proudly. Here are a few patriotic projects that are perfect for your Memorial Day celebration.  If you’ve jumped on the Cricut train, this project is perfect for you! Kelly at Here Comes The Sun shares all her tips for creating this patriotic tee that will complete your Memorial Day outfit. D.D.’s Cottage and Design created this simple banner as a patriotic addition to her mantle. This patriotic wreath is the perfect way to dress up your front door for summertime. Kenarry shares an excellent tutorial on how to create this wreath. You could even trade out the sign on top with a phrase of your choosing! While this isn’t exactly a project, I couldn’t help but share. This creative balloon flag created by Ella Claire is such a fun way to decorate your backyard for a Memorial Day cookout! This is my favorite patriotic project. (I may be a bit biased.) I had so much fun creating this pillow last year, I’m so excited to display it again this year! Head over to Designers Sweet Spot for all the details! This inexpensive craft would be a wonderful patriotic centerpiece or decoration for your front porch…
